About the library

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year and thank you for visiting our website! Our mission is to inspire a love of reading and to make every student who walks through our door feel welcome, valued and to see themselves reflected in our collection of books and resources.

We are happy to hear from our school community and feedback is always appreciated.

Meet the library staff!

Hello!  My name is Candice Bustos and this is my fifth year as the full time librarian at PVE. I have previously worked as the part time librarian at PVE for two years, so seven years altogether! I have also taught Library for grades K-5 in Easton School District, and was a kindergarten teacher in Allentown. I have a masters degree in Library Science, a K-6 teaching certification, and an ESL certification. Some of my favorite things to do are reading, camping, and spending time with my family. One of the most fulfilling aspects of teaching library is sharing books that open children up to worlds and cultures different from their own. I try very hard to ensure all my students and their families are reflected in our library collection. If there is a holiday or something special your family celebrates that you would like to share with me, I would love to hear about it! I can be reached at pvelibrary@pvbears.org.

Hi, I’m Diane DeBarry and I have worked as a Library Paraprofessional at PVSD for over 20 years. I was at the Middle School prior to moving to the Elementary School Library last year. I so enjoy being at PVE and being part of the staff here. I love feeling the excitement
and happiness of PV’s “Little Bears Cubs”. Every day is a new day and through their eyes
the world is all new and they teach me something every day. Hearing them laugh over a book
that Mrs. Bustos is reading to them is the best. I love spending time with my family
and my three grand-babies.
